Hess, Rita E. (13 NOV 1962 - 30 JAN 2019)

Rita E. Hess, 56, of Medford, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019 at her residence in the town of Medford.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with Father Phil Juza officiating. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Rita was born on Nov. 13, 1962 in Marshfield to the late Theresa Rita (Schmid) and Robert J. Hess. She attended Abbotsford elementary schools and was a 1981 graduate of Abbotsford High School. She married and later divorced.

After her education, Rita worked as a secretary for Time Federal Savings and Loan in Medford and Huotari Construction in Medford for periods of time. For 26 years, she worked as an administrative assistant for the City of Medford until her recent retirement. She enjoyed teaching piano to multiple students throughout her years and gardening. She worked as a volunteer for Hope Hospice for a period of time. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford.

Rita is survived by her children, Eric J. Tischendorf of Unity and Angela K. Tischendorf of Oshkosh; two grandchildren; significant other, Jeff Albers of Medford; and her siblings, Nancy (Albert) Erbach of Fond du Lac, Edward (Patricia) Hess of East Bethel, Minn. and Michael Hess of Mosinee.
