Marie Ann Gall (24 Dec 1906 - 28 Aug 1997) 

Marie Ann Gall, 90, Athens, died on Aug. 28, 1997, at the Colonial House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Colby.

Funeral services were held Aug. 30 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Milan, with Father Len Stashek presiding.  Burial was in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

The former Marie Ann Kaage was born on Dec. 24, 1906, to Herman and Minnie (Gumz) Kaage, in Prentice.  She attended Taylor County Normal School in Medford.  Marie and Ben Gall were united in marriage on June 16, 1926, in Loyal.  She was employed at the Dorchester schools as a cook for 25 years and was also a teacher’s aide for 20 years.  She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and Parish Council of Catholic Women.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia (Arnold) Schaefer of Colby and Dolores Bunkelman of Abbotsford; one son, Gary Gall and friend Patti of Athens; one sister Helen Violand of Colby; 32 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben on Oct. 4, 1972; son-in-law, Chester Bunkelman and one sister, Irene Kalepp.

Pallbearers were Michael Schaefer, Joseph Schaefer, Jim Schaefer, Randy Bunkelman, Greg Bunkelman and Jody Bunkelman.
