Toby Alan Cleasby, age 53, of Gilmanton, WI went home to be with the Lord.

He was born on March 27, 1965 in Janesville, WI to James and Delores (Johnson) Cleasby. He spent his childhood on his family’s farm in the Eleva-Strum area. In his teens, Toby moved out west where he graduated from Parachute High School in Colorado. After high school, Toby traveled the country working in the oil fields and doing construction work. He then settled back in Wisconsin where he attended aviation school in Winona, MN and earned his pilot’s license.

His final career was spent as a postal carrier for the Mondovi Post Office. Toby loved to build and fly his own airplanes, go fishing, and work on repairing many items. He was an animal lover and enjoyed socializing and cooking for others. He was a spiritual man and a believer in Jesus, being baptized in 2015. Toby will be remembered as a kind man with a fantastic sense of humor. His quick wits and extreme intellect often amazed others he talked to. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Most of all Toby was a family man. He was very proud of his family and all their accomplishments. He married his first wife Terri Loader in Kemmerer, Wyoming in 1987. Together they had children: Jennifer, Rachel, and Levy and a step son Tommy Loader. The couple later divorced.

Toby married Toni Gordon in Trempealeau, Wisconsin in 2008. From this marriage, he gained two more step children: Sheila and Derek Olson. He loved spending time with his family. He hosted yearly camping adventures for his grandchildren and enjoyed having everyone over for the holidays. He loved nothing more than tinkering on cars and go carts or building things with his children and grandchildren.

Toby is survived by his wife, Toni Cleasby of Gilmanton; six children, Jennifer (Shawn) Click of Wisconsin Rapids, Rachel (Caleb) Leidy of Stony Creek, VA, Levy Cleasby of Dickinson, ND, Tommy Loader of Mondovi, Sheila Olson of Middleton, WI and Derek Olson of Middleton, WI ; seven grandchildren; one grandchild on the way; mother, Delores Cleasby of Eleva; four siblings, Todd Cleasby, Jamie Cleasby, Laurene (Chris) Woda, and Jessica Cleasby, all of Eleva; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He will be greatly missed by his two dogs, Dozer and Mia.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Cleasby.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Thursday, December 13 at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home, Mondovi, WI and again for one hour prior to the services on Friday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home, Mondovi. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Mondovi.
