The Greenwood High School Class of 1959 held their 15-year reunion Sunday
evening, September
1, 1974, at the American Legion Hall in Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), with a
dinner served by the Legion Auxiliary following a social hour.
Jerome Behrens served as Master of Ceremonies for the evening, and asked John
Staut to preceded the dinner with a prayer. A moment of silence was observed for
the two deceased members of the class, Cedric Boe and Kathleen (Ampe) Maki.
Roses were awarded to JoAnne (Arch) Wroblewski for being the most changed
female, and Chuck Mast for the most changed male; Jerome Behrens for coming the
greatest distance (Casper, Wyoming); John Horvat for losing the most hair; John
Jasurda for the most recently married; Mary Ann (Haunschild) Zilz for sending in
the first reservation; and John Staut, John Zepaltas and Bob Slemec for sending
in the 15th reservations (all received the same day). Rose for having the most
children were awarded to Rita (Syth) Mayenschein (6), JoAnn (Hinker) Kaiser,
Mary Ann (Smrecek), Caroline (Denk) Annen, Bill Jordan, Ray Rondorf, and Dick
Scherer (each have 5), Shirley (Niemi Kangas received a rose for being the most
recent mother (December 1973) and Romaine Ellingson fo the most recent father
(July 1974). The guest faculty members present were also given roses. They were
Mrs. Mona B. Olson of Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Wagner and Mr. and Mrs.
Leniel Meyers of Greenwood.
