Phillips, Edward L. (23 AUG 1967 – 4 JUL 1974)
Edward L. Phillips Jr., 6 years old son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Phillips, 325 N. Milwaukee Street, Plymouth, Wisconsin, drowned at the Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) Park July 4, 1974, at 1:20 p.m., while the family was camping there for the weekend.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday at Faith United Methodist Church at Sheboygan Falls, with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Plymouth, Wisconsin. The Rev. John McBeth officiated.
The body was in state at Rink Funeral Home, Loyal, after 4 p.m. Friday, and at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Edward Phillips Jr. was born August 23, 1967 at Neillsville (Clark Co.). He had completed first grade at Parkview Elementary School, Plymouth, Wisconsin.
A prayer service was held at the Rink Funeral Home at 8 p.m. Friday, with Rev. Raymond Fleming conducting the service.
Pallbearers were Leonard Murray, James Hanson, Phil Roberts, Stuart Blanke, James Smith, and Steve Hoffman.
Mrs. Dorothy Loomis accompanied Phillip Loomis, who sang "Jesus Love the Little Children" and "In the Garden."
He is survived by his parents, three brothers, Kirk, David, and Timothy, at home, and Betsy, at home, and his grandmother, Mrs. Viola Phillips, Sheboygan, and his great-grandmother, Mrs. Maude Campbell, Eau Claire.
