Schauer, Janet Marie (2 AUG 1969)

St. john's Lutheran Church, Edgar (Marathon Co., Wis.), was the scene for the marriage of Janet Marie Schauer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schauer, Edgar, and Thomas Gene Freimund, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rolan Freimund, Athens. The 3 p.m. ceremony was performed by Rev. Gerhart Schmeling on August 2, 1969. Mrs. Eugene Uekert was organist.

Attending the bride were Mrs. Dorothy Thompson, sister of the bride, Barbara Freimund, sister of the Groom, Phyllis Moh and Paige Ahrens, as miniature bride, friends of the couple.

The bride was seen in a Chantilly lace gown with a flat front bouffant skirt of cascading ruffles sweeping into a chapel train. Pearl Chantilly lace scallops accented the Sabrina neckline. The gown had long lace sleeves and sequin trim accented each ruffle. Her bouffant veil was held with a pearl and crystal tiered crown. Her bridal bouquet consisted of pink roses.

The attendants wore identically styled floor length formals of green spray chiffon over matching taffeta, having a scoop neckline and long sheer puffed sleeves, which were cuffed with harmonizing colored embroidered bands. The set in fitted bodice was also trimmed with the embroidered appliques, having long moss green velvet ribbon streamers. The back was fully shirred and trimmed at the waistline with the same lace, while the skirt was A-line at the front. They wore forward headpieces with wired tull leaf brim, grosgrain straw ribbon bows, centered with floral cluster, to which short bouffant veils were secured in the same color as the dresses. They carried bouquets of yellow and white carnations.

The miniature bride's dress was fashioned exactly like the bride's gown. She carried pin garnet roses.

A supper in the church parlors followed the ceremony, and a dance was held at Memorial Hall in Dorchester.

The future home for the couple, following a wedding trip to Denver and other places of interest, will be Milwaukee.
