Sauter, Russ J. (30 JAN 1963 - 19 SEP 2018)
Russ J. Sauter, 55, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2018.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Life Bible Fellowship (2426 N. Euclid Ave., Upland, CA 91784) with family visitation preceding the service at the church at 9 a.m. A private family burial will follow at the internment site immediately following the service.
Russ was born on Jan. 30, 1963, in Wausau, the son of Dale and Jeannie (Lang) Sauter. He graduated from Marathon High School in 1981. Upon completing high school he moved to California in pursuit of other work opportunities and adventures. On Dec. 27, 1986, Russ married Nancy (Wilichowski) at St. Mary’s Church in Marathon. Together, they were blessed with two sons, Dale and Dylan.
His love for his family was the driving force in his pursuit of success and while his hard-working attitude and professional dedication yielded many blessings, he was always willing to help people in their times of hardship.
Russ enjoyed spending time with his loving family across the U.S. including Montana, California and Wisconsin. He possessed many different interests such as driving sand rails, passionately rooting for the Packers and attending country concerts and rodeos. He lived for planning his next hunting trip as he continually traveled the world and explored new places. While others may have thought Russ’s love for hunting was extreme, for Russ it was one of the greatest joys of his life. He also enjoyed the little things in life though. As Russ always said, there was nothing better than a cup of coffee and a crumb donut. His love of life, sense of humor, and boisterous laugh will be the things his loved ones will miss the most. Russ was also an active member of his church where he cherished his commitment to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He especially enjoyed and looked forward to the gatherings of his weekly Bible study group.
Russ will be sadly missed and will always be lovingly remembered by his wife, Nancy (Wilichowski) Sauter; sons, Dale (Lisa) Sauter and their son James, and Dylan Sauter and Angelica Ceja and her daughter Elinor. He is further survived by his parents, Dale and Jeannie (Lang) Sauter; brothers, Randy (Therese) and their daughters Amber (Ben) Sebold and Lindsey Sauter; David (Robin) and their children, Chad (Aby), Chelsea, and Chayce Sauter; Dan (Michele) and their daughters, Krystena (Craig) Kunze and Alyssa (Bob) Knoll; Bill (Amy) and their daughter, Paige Sauter; parents in-law, Charles and Dianne (Stubbe) Wilichowski and their children, Carl (Kim) Wilichowski and their daughters Tracy and Sheree, Pam (Scott) Hanke and their son Zach, Andy (Collette) Wilichowski and their children, Jack and Violet; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, grand-nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
Russ was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Dorothy Lang, Marty and Leona Sauter; and many aunts and uncles.
The family would like to extend an invitation to continue our celebration of Russ’s life immediately following the service at Magdaleno’s Restaurant and Lounge located at 220 N. Central Ave., Upland, CA 91786. Please join us to gather, eat and share your favorite Russ stories while celebrating the time we had together.
