Kostick, Mr./Mrs. Steve Sr. (Gold – 27 SEP 1971)

A golden wedding anniversary celebration was held on September 25, 1971 at the American Legion Hall of Thorp in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kostick Sr. of Conrath, Wisconsin.

The celebration was given by the Kostick’s six children, which many relatives and friends attended to help celebrate the gay event.

A reception of 266 guests was held, and a dance followed with music by the Happy Notes of Stevens Point.

The hostess was Mrs. Johan Szemraj of Thorp, a godchild of Mrs. Steve Kostick.

Mr. and Mrs. Kostick lived in the Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) area for many years, where they operated a tavern and dance hall for 32 years. In 1953 they sold the tavern to their daughter, Lucille, and moved to Holcombe, where they went into the Resort business for 18 years.

They have six children, Ervin of Chicago, Emil of Conrath, Mrs. Edward (Dorothy) Dudek of Hales Corners, Mrs. Walter (Lucille) Szemraj of Thorp, Steve Jr. of Thorp, and Donald of New York.

They were married September 27, 1921 at Lublin. They are now retiring at their home in Holcombe, where they son, Steve Jr. took over the resort.

Out of town guests were from Chicago, Milwaukee, Hatfield, Melrose, Gilman, Ladysmith, Withee, Wausau, Chippewa Falls, Owen, Lublin, Medford, Hales Corners, Brown Deer, Bruce Oconomowoc, Hannibal, and Neillsville.

The Kosticks thank Legionnaires and Legion Ladies Auxiliary for the great cooperation.
