Redig, Mary Diane (11 December 1959 – 7 September 2018)

Mary Diane Redig, 58, of Marshfield passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She passed peacefully at home with her family by her side. A celebration of life will be held at her home Oct. 6, 2018, at 12 p.m.

Mary was born Dec. 11, 1959, to Marion and Joyce (Edwards) Spencer in Clarion, IA. She was united in marriage April 27, 1985, to Robert Redig at Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshfield. She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1978 and earned her Pre-Service Nursing Assistant Degree from District One Technical Institute in Eau Claire the same year. She graduated from Midstate Technical College in 1980 as a unit clerk and as a word processing specialist in 1989.

Mary utilized her talents by working at the Marshfield Living Center as a unit clerk, Marshfield Clinic, as a lab assistant and an administrative and an administrative assistant, then Figi’s Inc. as a warehouse strategist. She always loved spending time with her family, being creative, being outside in her gardens, making count ed cross-stitch and refurbishing furniture. Mary’s sense of humor, sharp wit and brutal honesty will truly be missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, and children: David Redig of Phoenix, Az, Lacy Redig of Marshfield, Kristen (Daniel) Winters of Marshfield, and Jonathon Redig of Sun Prairie; and her grandchildren: Talia, Rachel, Stone, Jesse, Wade, Elora, and Ronin. She is further survived by her siblings: Duane (Grace) Spencer of DeFuniak Springs, FL; James (Tess) Spencer of Fuquay-Varina, NC; and Walter (Lorraine) Spencer of Neillsville; and numerous other extended family members, especially Darla Meddaugh of Marshfield and Carol Sterzinger of Auburndale.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Walter and Edna Redig; and daughter-in-law Monica Redig.

In lieu of flowers, please know that donations will be used in a way to honor Mary’s memory and spirit.
