Starks, Ruby Marie (22 MAY 1971)
Miss Ruby Marie Starks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emory Starks, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Bruce K Jaecks, son of Mrs. Lawrence Artus and the late Melvin Jaecks, Marathon, on Saturday, May 22, 1971 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Reverend Hebert Praeuner performed the five p.m. marriage ceremony.
The bride wore a floor length gown of white Dacron sheer, trimmed with white ribbon string bows. Venice lace appliqued the bodice in outline of a bolero from center of lace appliqued collar and circled the waistline. A velvet bow centered the collar, and the bishop sleeves had lace appliqued cuffs trimmed with velvet bows. The bouffant veil was secured to a French look headpiece of tulle florals trimmed with pearls. She carried a cascade of yellow mums, white miniature carnations and lily of the valley.
Mrs. John Sommers was her sister's matron of honor, wearing a floor length A-line gown of yellow crepe trimmed with matching floral lace around the bodice, styled with empire waist and elbow length sleeves. A yellow daisy headpiece completed her ensemble, and she carried a semi-colonial bouquet of yellow sweetheart roses, miniature carnations and lily of the valley.
The bride's brother-in-law, John Sommers, attended the groom. Ushers were Perry Tetsch and George Starks.
A supper was held in the church parlors, with a reception and dance following at Trail's End.
They will make their home on route 4, Wausau after a one week trip to South Dakota.
