Hingiss, William E. (1 APR 1886 – 23 JUN 1972)

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Church of Christ in Owen for William E. Hingiss, 86, of route 2, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), who died of a lingering illness Friday at the Colonial Home in Colby.

Burial was made in the Riverside Cemetery and the Rev. Ralph Claybaugh officiated. Hoeper-Kraut Funeral Home in Owen was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hingss was born April 1, 1886 at Curtiss, and attended the Four Corners Grade School. He was married May 25, 1910 to the former Catherine Danielson, who survives him.

Other survivors include one son, William Jr., Waukesha; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Scheel, Milwaukee; Mrs. John (Helen) Carroll, Eau Claire; and Mrs. Lawrence (Catherine) Scheel, Hunlock Creek, Pennsylvania; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Paul, Stanley, and Mrs. Ida Patitz, Abbotsford; one brother, Herman of Dorchester, and one half-brother, Rudolph Ortlieb, Dorchester.
