Ward, Alice (17 FEB 1907 – 27 MAY 1972)

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 1972, at the Dorchester Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall for Mrs. Donovan (Alice) Ward, 65, who died at 11:05 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 1972 at her home on route 1, Curtiss (Clark Co.,Wis.).

Ralph Schultz, Wausau, officiated, and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

The former Alice Derry was born February 17, 1907 at Galesburg, Illinois, where she received her education. She was married there September 20, 1934 to Donovan Ward, who survives. The couple resided in rural Greenwood from 1934 until 1938, in rural Withee from 1938 to 1944, and since 1944 in the town of Mayville, where they operated a farm.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Donovan E. Ward Jr., Covington, Virginia; a daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Marlene) Mattson, Withee; five grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Derry, Florida; and Havey Derry of California; and two sisters, Miss Myrtle Derry, Santa Anna, California, and Mrs. Goldie Fox, Anaheim, California.
