Bernadine (Tomaszewski) Borek, 64 of Hawkins, died on Sunday, July 15, 2018, at her home from a heart-attack. She was born on August 8, 1953, in Ladysmith to Edward & Christina (Gryga) Tomaszewski.

Bernadine married Michael R. Borek, III on April 27, 1974, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Tony. She graduated from Ladysmith High School and lived her whole life in Hawkins on her parents' family farm. She worked most recently at the Northwoods Convenience Store for approximately five years, helped with Kinship and KAMO, was a bass player/vocalist in the Northstar Express Polka Band, farmed for 40 years and previously worked for Northern Sash & Door in Hawkins, Con wed in Ladysmith and Viking Cafe and McCains, both in Rice Lake. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawkins.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, photography, gardening, pets, loved to polka dance and was tin excellent cook. She loved being around family and kids. She often visited the sick and enjoyed helping others. She was deeply religious.

Bernadine is survived by her husband, Michael; one son. Randy M. (Crystal) Borek of New Richmond; and one sister, Winkie (Mike) Eckes of Hawkins. She was excitedly awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawkins with Fr. Inna Pothireddy officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19 at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Ladysmith where a Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. There will also be an hour of visitation prior to services on Friday at the Church. Private burial will be held at a later date.
