Zabel, Troy A. (8 MAY 1983 – 12 JUN 2018)

Troy A. Zabel, 35, Greenwood, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in the town of Loyal. A celebration of life will be held at the Greenwood American Legion on Saturday, June 23, from 1-4 p.m.

Troy Allen Zabel was born on May 8, 1983, in Neillsville, to David J. and Connie A. (nee Colby) Zabel. He was raised and received his education in Greenwood, graduating from Greenwood High School in 2001. During high school, Troy worked for Bill Speich on his farm, and after graduation was employed with Wick’s Building Systems in Marshfield. He later returned to work for Bill Speich, and then was employed with Lynn Dairy as a cheesemaker until his death. He had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his son, Logan, and his family, following Brewer baseball and NASCAR, fishing and hunting.

Troy is survived by his son: Logan Zabel of Wausau; his parents: Dave and Connie Zabel of Greenwood; his brother: Travis (Brenda) Zabel of Loyal; two nephews: Isaac and Marshall Zabel of Loyal; his fiance: Jenifer Bender of Greenwood; and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Earl and Rose Zabel, and Dennis Sr. and Naomi Colby.
