She participated in the Illinois Prairieland Walk to Emmaus and was also a longtime member of the Godfrey Women's Club. She was a loving and attentive grandmother and was affectionately known as GiGi by her great-grandchildren.
Billie was preceded in death by brothers Louis “Louie” Lafikes and Stanley Howell, and by sisters Mary (Lafikes) Worrell and Louise (Lafikes) Paneschi.
She is survived by two daughters and their families: Kathleen (Glenn) Wooten of Kingston, Washington, and Kathleen's sons Aaron (Danielle) Kaufman and Adam Kaufman; and Julia (John) Jast of Ogema, Wisconsin, and their eleven children Jennifer (Reed) McBride, Joanna (Ben) Marquis, John (Kelsey) Jast, Jerilyn (Frank) Yost, Dr. Jeffrey Jast, Jackie (Maxwell) Parlin, Janette Jast, Jordanna (Kurt) Storvik, Joseph Jast, Justine Jast, and Joshua Jast.
