Jacob, Paul William (16 October 1897 – 23 January 1975)

A Town of Weston native, Paul William Jacob, Neillsville, died Thursday, January 23, at the age of 77 following a lingering illness. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated at funeral services held Monday from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Born October 16, 1897, in the Town of Weston to Robert C. and Augusta (Kranz) Jacob, he attended Uncle Sam School and worked at home until his marriage, when he took over his parents’ farm. He was married to the former Helen L. Ripke on October 15, 1924, at Neillsville.

The couple farmed until 1947 when their son assumed operation of the family farm and they moved to Neillsville. Mr. Jacob worked at various places and retired from Auto-Test in 1968. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and of its Men’s Club.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, are one son, Robert Jacob of Port Edwards; one brother, Alvin Jacob of Neillsville; and one granddaughter, Mrs. Michael (Charlene) Dascher of La Crosse.
