Schmitz, Patti M. (5 AUG 1963 – 2 JUN 2018)

Patti M. Schmitz, 54, Tomahawk, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, June 6, at the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Larry Mathein will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m.

Patti was one of the triplets born to Leroy and Audrey (nee Bauer) Schmitz in Neillsville, on Aug. 5, 1963. She spent much of her childhood in the Loyal area and later graduated from Rib Lake High School. Patti later lived in the Prentice area before moving to Tomahawk eight years ago. She was married to Karri Gorton on Dec. 15, 2017. She enjoyed all outdoor activities, camping, kayaking, ATVing, and she was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. Most of all, Patti loved her family and spending time with them. She was employed at HyPro in Rhinelander for the past seven years.

Survivors include her spouse, Karri Gorton of Tomahawk; a son, Tyler (Evelyn) Rhody of Texas; two grandchildren, Isabelle and Gwendolyn of Texas; her siblings: Janet Meacham of Greenwood, Randall (Kathy) Schmitz of Loyal, Rodney Schmitz of Loyal, Julie (Allan) Trachte of Rhinelander, Rick Schmitz of Rib Lake, Peter Schmitz of Greenwood, and Paul (Bonnie) Schmitz of Canada; and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
