Welsh, J. Lynn (9 July 1900 – 19 December 1974)

A resident of the Neillsville area for approximately the past year, J. Lynn Welsh, 74, of Rt. 2, died December 19 in Neillsville. Funeral services were held Monday, at the Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Pa., with a reader of the Church of Christ, Scientist, officiating. Interment was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements here.

Mr. Welsh, the son of Jacob and Ida J. (Coroft) Welsh, was born July 9, 1900, in Waynesboro and was educated there. After attending technical college he worked for the Landis Tool Company in Pennsylvania and in Illinois. His marriage to the former Dorothy Schroeder took place October 19, 1969, in Barrington, Il.

The Welshes lived in Barrington before moving to the Neillsville area. They raised purebred collies as a hobby and acted as judges at many dog shows. Mr. Welsh entered Memorial Home in August.

He was a member of The Mother Church – The Frist Church of Christ, Scientist, of Boston, Ma., of the Masonic Median Temple and Shrine of Chicago, Il., and was also a member of and judge for the American Kennel club.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Richard Welsh of Decatur, Il., and Robert Hoyt of Barrington; one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Ellen) Ramm of Waynesboro, Pa.; one brother, Harold Welsh, also of Waynesboro; and two grandchildren.
