Dvorak, Douglas Joseph (19 August 1936 – 26 February 2018) With Flag

Douglas Joseph Dvorak, 81, of Hatfield, WI passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Monday, February 26, 2018. Doug was born August 19, 1936, son of Joseph and Esther (Meyer) Dvorak in Black River Falls, WI.

Doug grew up in Alma Center and Merrillan, WI. He moved to Milwaukee, where he was employed by Harnischfeger. In 1959, he was drafted in the Army and stationed in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. After he was discharged, he married Geraldine Sesolak. She passed away in 1990. Doug married Rosemary Ransom in 1993. Doug had said he was lucky in be in love two times.

Doug was a board member for the Township of Adams for thirty-two years. He was one of the first to start the Hatfield Fire Department and first responders in 1977 and for many years he served as chief. He was a member of the American Legion and AM Vets. He was also a member of the fire department for Fort McCoy and the VA Medical Center. Doug owned the Inwood Supper Club from 1971 to 1983.

Doug was a huge Packers fan. He loved Polka music and spending time with his family. In true optimistic Doug Dvorak fashion, he was grateful for his 81 good years.

Doug is survived by his wife, Rosemary; children, Don (Karla Sattler) Wissing of Brillion, WI, Sue (Wax) Florek of WI, Randy (Tracey) Dvorak of Auburndale, WI; step-children, Reid (Tanya Lamon) Ransom of Black River Falls, WI and Ryan (Kim) Ransom of Black River Falls, WI; brother, Dennis (DeDe) Dvorak of West Allis, WI; grandchildren, Chad (Audrey Polley) Millis of MO, Nichole Millis, Jennifer Millis, Cody (Kate) Florek, Kaeden Dvorak, Ben (Lindsey) Wissing, Leatha Wissing, Morgan Benz, Mara Ransom, Kyle Kostohryz and Tanner Frost all of WI; great grandchildren, Jesse, Kevin, Veronica, Kennedy, Emma, Ivy, Dazie, Maribel, Juniper, Ava, Bella, Lena, Reed, and Elise; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine; three brothers, Elwood, Lowell, and Gayle; and two nephews, David and AJ Dvorak.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at United Methodist Church in Black River Falls with Pastor Kathleen Jury officiating. Burial will follow at Hatfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018 at Buswell Funeral Home in Black River Falls and again from 12:00 noon until time of services at the church on Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to Hatfield Fire and Rescue.
