Matousek, Alverna D. (17 June 1913 – 5 November 1974)

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Laddie (Alverna D.) Matousek, 61, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who died November 5 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Mn. The Rev. William Noble of the United Methodist Church officiated, and burial followed in the Dells Dam Cemetery.

Mrs. Matousek, the daughter of Christopher J. and Minnie Davis, was born June 17, 1913, in Oklahoma. During her lifetime, she worked for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad Company, and in hospitals and institutions in Wisconsin. Her marriage to Laddie Matousek took place April 9, 1951, in Waukegan, Il. Since that time, she had been a resident of the Neillsville area.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two children, Mrs. Earl (Mary) White of Rt. 3 Neillsville, and Richard Gibson of Houston, Tx.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jerry Koranda, Bud Struensee, Chris Vandeberg, Herb and Jim Filitz and John Sebesta.

Organist Linda Diers played “The Old Rugged Cross” and “The Little Brown Church in the Vale.”

Kotty, Cicero, Il.; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Davis, Mr. and Mrs. William Wanta and Mrs. Don Jisko, Stevens Point; Diane Davis and Mike, Berlin; Kenneth Davis and Miss Beverly Welles, Lake Geneva; Allen Davis, Elkhorn; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Ziegel, Athens; Mr. and Mrs. William Voegeli, Eau Claire; and George Sebesta.
