Hohenstein, Cheryl (Marriage – 9 November 1974)

Miss Cheryl Hohenstein became the bride of Leonard C. Chaltry, Jr., in a 1:30 p.m. ceremony performed Saturday, November 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph Henseler. A reception at the American Legion Hall preceded an evening dance at the Silver Dome Ballroom.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Hohenstein of Rt. 2 Granton, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Chaltry, Sr., of Neillsville.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in an empire-waist gown fashioned with a lace bodice with long, lace sleeves and an A-Line skirt flowing into a lace-edged train. A lace-edged fingertip length veil complimented the gown, brightened by an autumn arrangement of yellow roses and orange rose buds.

Bridal attendants were Karen Zehe of Eau Claire, friend of the bride and Sue Olson of Merrillan, sister of the groom. Their empire-waist gowns of green and orange floral print were accented with lace and ribbons. White carnations with orange rose buds formed their bouquets.

Serving as best man was Richard Zehe, Jr., Eau Claire, friend of the groom, Gary Hohenstein, Neillsville, brother of the bride, acted as groomsman. Guests were seated by Dale Hohenstein and David Hohenstein, brothers of the bride.

Music at the wedding was by Mrs. Glen Short and Susan Schmidt. Special selections included, “Wedding Song” and “Follow Me”.

The bride was honored at a prenuptial shower given by Mrs. John Reinart, Mrs. Don Hoover and Miss Irene Meier.

The new Mrs. Chaltry, a 1971 graduate of Neillsville High School, and a 1972 graduate of District One Technical Institute, Eau Claire, has been employed by a finance firm in Neillsville. Her husband is also a 1971 Neillsville High School graduate. He attended District One Technical Institute for three years and is self-employed.

The newlyweds will take a wedding trip at a later date and are presently living on Farwell St. in Eau Claire.
