Harder, Virginia “Ginny” A. (Brink) (18 AUG 1935 - 14 FEB 2018)

Virginia “Ginny” A. Harder, 82, of Aspirus Care & Rehab, Medford and former Town of Medford and Town of Hammel resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Aspirus Care & Rehab, Medford where she had resided for the past 6 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 17 at Community United Church of Christ, Medford, with Pastor Mary Jo Laabs officiating. Interment will follow at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

Visitation will be held at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 4-7 PM on Friday, February 16 and also at church from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Saturday, February 17.

Pallbearers are Todd Kasper, Christopher, Pat, Jesse, Michael, Adam and Aaron Harder, and Austin Matthews.

Ginny was born on August 18, 1935, at the Town of Browning, to Daniel G. and Goldie (Jensen) Brink. She received her education at the Town of Browning elementary school and attended Medford High School.

On November 1, 1952, at Community United Church of Christ, Medford she was married to Eugene G. Harder. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2012.

They farmed in the Town of Hammel for many years. While farming, she worked at Eddies Bakery, Aspirus VNA as a CNA, was a foster parent for many, baby sat for multiple children & was a Farmers Union leader. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, quilting, jig saw puzzles, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, dancing, polka music, traveling cooking & canning. She was a member of Community United Church of Christ, Medford and its Woman’s Guild and taught Sunday School.

Ginny is survived by her children, Gary (Kathy) Harder & Jeff (Dawn) Harder both of Medford, Julie (Tom) Matthews of Marshfield; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; siblings Ilaine Blasel of Medford, Donald (Clarice) Brink of Medford, Sisters-in-law: Virginia Brink of Lake Mills, WI & Leona Brink of Medford.

She is predeceased by her parents, Daniel G. and Goldie (Jensen) Brink; her husband Eugene G. Harder; children Gail in 1966, Daniel in 1990 and Wayne in 1995; and siblings Charles and Melvin Brink, and Fern Munson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to the family for a future designation.
