Peterson, Dean Leo (15 JUN 1929 - 8 FEB 2018)

Dean Leo Peterson, 88 of Thorp, died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the House of the Dove-Marshfield.

He was born on June 15, 1929 in Stanley to the late Alvin and Mabel (Johnson) Peterson. Dean grew up south of Stanley and went on to serve his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. On May 12, 1954 he married Marion Miland in Iowa.

Dean owned a gas station with his brother in law: Bing Miland in Rochester, worked for Arco in Kenosha and Burlington, was a road builder and worked for DeBoer Trucking. He was a great mechanic and built many things. Dean also loved his beer, enjoyed animals, his family; especially his grandkids.

He is survived by his children, Jayne (Ben Lorenz) Diekfuss of Boyd, Duane (Sue) Peterson of Pittsville, Laurel Schneider of Burlington and Diane Parker of Thorp, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Dean is preceded in death by his wife Marion (2016), his parents, brothers, Jim, Jerry, Rodney, Rich and Ralph and sisters, Lorraine Dorski, Dorothy Wedman and Marjorie Peterson.

A celebration of life will be held at 1PM on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Plombon Funeral Home-Stanley. Burial will follow in Big Drywood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11AM until time of service on Saturday.
