Austin, Francis Howard “Frank” (11 SEP 1931 - 11 JAN 2018)

Francis Howard “Frank” Austin of Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Jan. 11, 2018, at Atrium Post-Acute Care in Marshfield.

Frank was born Sept. 11, 1931, in the town of Cleveland at the family farm of Howard and Evelyn (Weisman) Austin. He was the oldest of eleven children.

Frank graduated from Stratford High School in 1949. He was proud to serve in the United States Marine Corp, and was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. On May 19, 2014, he participated in the Never Forgotten Honor Flight XVI.

He married the one love of his life, Colleen (Holleran) Ziegahn, on Aug. 1, 1975. They initially settled in the town of Cleveland before moving to Marshfield. Frank was a loving and patient man who spent countless hours enjoying time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his wife, Colleen; her children, Ken (Bonnie) Ziegahn of Anchorage, Ala., and Kay Hebert (Dennis Bruckschen) of Marshfield; brothers, Joseph and John of Wisconsin Rapids, Leonard of Edgar and Richard of Auburndale; sisters, Ann Seubert of Marathon, Grace Martin of Kimberly, Marion “Cookie” Theurer of Marshfield, Kay Raleigh of Stratford and Dorothy Brod of Mosinee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Evelyn Austin; sister, Carol Austin; son-in-law, Roger Hebert; and grandson, Michael Ziegahn.

There will be no visitation or service. A private family burial at Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield will be held at a later date.
