Hodd, Doris K. (Kieser) (26 APR 1932 - 28 DEC 2017)

Doris K. Hodd, age 85, of Abbotsford, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Dycora Transisitional Health.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Interment will follow at Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Doris was born on April 26, 1932 the daughter of Gottlieb and Stella (Habeck) Kieser in Athens. She graduated from Abbotsford High School. On January 12, 1961, Doris was united in marriage to Floyd Hodd. He preceded her in death in 1982.

Doris lived in Melrose and worked as a bank teller and bookkeeper. She and her husband also ran a movie theater in Melrose. Doris enjoyed bicycling, music, animals, the outdoors and visiting with family and friends.

Doris is survived by her son, James Hodd of Abbotsford; six brothers and sisters: Don Kieser of Abbotsford, Marilyn Brown of Mason City, IA, Carol Bartz of Merrill, Dennis (Joan) Kieser of Thorp, Muriel (Warren) Puhl of Menomonie and Marjorie (Bill) Rohlik of Eleva; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; a brother, Frederick (Lois) Kieser; a sister, Dorothy (Quintin) Quade; a brother-in-law, Kurt Bartz and a sister-in-law, Joann Kieser.
