Miller, Michele J. (Kwapil) (5 APR 1971 - 17 NOV 2017)

Michele J. Miller age 46 of Owen, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until service time. Reverend Amy Heinz will officiate.

Michele was born on April 5, 1971, the daughter of Russell E. and Linda C. (Garey) Kwapil. She received her education in Racine, WI and was a 1989 graduate of Racine Lutheran High School. Michele attended the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater before returning to Racine. She ran her own cleaning service prior to becoming the banquet manager and then general manager for Roma Lodge in Racine.

She served on the Leadership Racine team in 2003 and was involved with the development of the Kids Cove Playground at North Beach. Michele worked in the medical field for many years after that. She attended Milwaukee Area Technical College while she was a health unit coordinator at Aurora Saint Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee and then later, after moving up north, she was a scheduler for Marshfield Clinic in Ladysmith.

Michele is survived by her daughter, Erin L. Miller of Owen, mother, Linda Garey of Rice Lake, half-brother, Nicholas Kwapil of Racine, significant other, Doreen Kramer of Owen, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Michele enjoyed scrapbooking, cardmaking, gardening and cooking. Michele was known for her generous, compassionate nature; truly one who would give someone the shirt off her back. Her fun-loving spirit touched many people.

She is preceded in death by her father, grandparents, an aunt and three uncles.
