Wojtkiewicz, Mary Ann Frances (1 AUG 1970)

Mary Ann Frances Wojtkiewicz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis T. Wojtkiewicz of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Charles Anthony Ghidorzi, in a double ring ceremony performed at 4:15 on Saturday, August 1, 1970, at St. Hedwig’s Church in Thorp. Two baskets of white gladiolas and standard mums decorated the altar. White and gold bows and ivory candles marked the bridal aisle.

The Reverend Arthur Redmond, a close friend of the bride and groom, officiated at the ceremony, during which the bride was given in marriage by her mother and father. Mr. Alois Ciolkosz played the organ preceding the Mass and during the ceremony. The St. Bernard choir sang a number of selections, with Mrs. Flemming, the soloist, who sang “The Prayer.” Mr. Anthony Ghidorzi, brother of the groom, read the epistle, and Mr. and Mrs. John Gorel, aunt and uncle of the bride, carried the offertory gifts to the altar.

The bride was beautifully attired in an ivory silk organza A-line gown. The pearl beaded Alencon lace bodice was sleeveless, with a high scalloped neckline. Lace appliques were delicately scattered on the skirt, with a chapel train. Her headpiece was richly beaded with pearls and scalloped in a floral design to frame her face and caught her silk illusion veil. She carried an Edwardian bouquet of stock, miniature carnations and roses.

Miss Cindy Bonczkowski, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a Vegas blue floor length gown in A-line styling. The gown was tailored with a white trim that was delicately accented with a number of various small cut stones at the neckline and down the back to the empire waistline. She wore a Vegas blue velvet bow with three streamers dotted with bow knots, and carried a cloud bouquet of baby’s breath and gold, bronze, and yellow pompom mums, with accompanying long streamers.

Mrs. Alice Wojtkiewicz, sister-in-law of the bride; Mrs. Joyce Ghidorzi, sister-in-law of the groom; and Mrs. Kay Ghidorzi, sister-in-law of the groom, were bridesmaids. They were attired identically to the maid of honor.

Kenneth Teeters of Park Falls attended the groom as best man.

Theodore, Wojtkiewicz, brother of the bride; Joseph Ghidorzi, brother of the groom; and Anthony Ghidorzi, brother of the groom, were groomsmen. Michael Wiernasz, cousin of the bride, served as usher.

Mrs. Ann Wojtkiewicz wore a gold brocade tunic floor length gown. The neckline and the short sleeves were accented with gold open work trimming. The waistline and the tunic skirt were of beige crepe. She wore a shoulder corsage of harvest gold roses. Mrs. Mary Ghidorzi wore a lavender chiffon floor length gown. The dress featured a high neckline collar and a fitted bodice and belt. She wore a shoulder corsage of Cymbidium orchids.

The reception was held at the American Legion Hall immediately following the ceremony. A three tier cake was creatively divided with tall white columns and a running water fountain. White roses and a bride and groom replica adorned the cake. Blue, gold and white carried out the table appointments. Ivory candles were interveningly spaced on the tables. Howie Sturtz and his orchestra music for an evening dance.

Following a trip to the Wisconsin Dells and Lake Geneva, the couple will make their home at 500 Strollers lane in Wausau.

The bride had just completed her graduate studies at Stout State University, and will be employed as guidance counselor in the Wausau school system.

The groom is a 1967 graduate of Stout State University and is also employed by the Wausau school system as a power mechanics instructor.
