Haubert, Rudolph “Rudy” (20 JUL 1924 - 20 OCT 2017)

Rudolph “Rudy” Haubert, 93, lifetime resident of the Town of Catawba, died on his family homestead on Friday, October 20, 2017, after a lengthy illness under the care of Flambeau Home Health Care and Hospice and his family.

He was born on July 20, 1924, in the Town of Catawba, the son of Joseph and Amelia (Gunz) Haubert. He attended and graduated from Phillips High School, Class of 1942.

Following his education he served his country in U.S. Army. He married Marion Nelson on August 5, 1950 in Kennan. They celebrated over 67 years of marriage.

Rudy had many careers starting with road construction, was a dairy farmer, a woodsworker, the Town of Catawba Clerk, a bus driver for the Phillips School District for 19 years, then was the Secretary-Treasurer and Manager of Price County Town Mutual Insurance Co., for many years prior to his retirement.

Rudy became a director on Price County Town Mutual in 1972, Secretary-Treasurer in 1979, was on the Wisconsin Legislative Committee in 1983, was a Director for the State Association from 1987 to 1993, and in 1999 was named Man of the year by the Wisconsin Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. He retired in 2015 after 43 years of dedicated service.

He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Kennan, and an active member of the former Catawba VFW Post. In his free time he enjoyed reading, the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Marion, Catawba, by his 5 children: Karen Koch, Phillips, Mary Ellen Bell, Appleton, Alan (Judy) Haubert, Neenah, Brian (Tammy) Haubert, Catawba, and Chad (Special friend Nancy) Haubert, Boyd, WI, by 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1Brother-in-Law and 2 Sisters-In-Law; Jim and Judy Nelson, Hawkins, and Ila Haubert, Waupaca.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by 1 son John Haubert, by 2 brothers: Joe and Fred, by 3 sisters: Christine, Kay, and Marge, and by 2 Sons-in-Law Casey Bell and Byron Koch.

A memorial Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the New Hope Baptist Church, Kennan, with Pastor Jonn Morrow officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post #5778, and the Lane- Kreiling American legion Post #122, both of Phillips.

Friends may call at the church on Saturday, October 28, 2017, from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service at 12:00 Noon.

The Heindl Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
