Miss Nancy Lee Gebauer became the bride of Robert Harold Schesel in a double ring marriage ceremony performed by Pastor Marvin Zank at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Medford, on Saturday, May 16, 1970, at two p.m.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gebauer, Medford, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Schesel of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor length bridal gown of taffeta and Chantilly lace, featuring jeweled Sabrina neckline, long lace sleeves, a lace panel in front of the A-line skirt, completed with bow trim was at the modified waistline. Completing her ensemble was a detachable train of taffeta and Chantilly lace and a matching petal headpiece with silk illusion veiling. She carried a large bouquet of red and white roses with rose bud streamers.

Mrs. Douglas Grube was her sister’s maid of honor, and bridesmaids were: Miss Janice Halopka, Miss Sally Kleist and Darla Halopka, cousins of the bride. They wore rainbow colored floor length dresses of Chantilly lace and silk organza styled with high necklines with lace V-piece in front and back, and long sleeves with lace cuffs. They each wore matching daisy headpieces with pouf veils and carried white gardenias and gardenias the colors of their dresses, in orchid, yellow, Nile green, and turquoise.

Douglas Grube, the bride’s brother-in-law, was best man, and groomsmen were: Bill Gebauer, the bride’s brother, Richard Schesel, the groom’s brother, and Allen Alger, the groom’s cousin. Ushers were Lex Gebauer and Randy Schesel, the brothers of the bride and groom, respectfully. The groomsmen wore a gardenia matching the bridesmaids’ dresses.

The bride, a graduate of Medford High School, is a clerk-typist with Thorp Finance Corp, and the groom, a graduate of Thorp High School, is a commission accountant with ITT-Midwestern Life Insurance Corp.

A dinner and reception for 200 was held at the Chelsea Conservation Club.

After a wedding trip out west, the new couple will make their home in Thorp.
