Dodmead, Mrs. Elmer (8 June 1909 – 20 August 1974)

Funeral services are to be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Elmer (Regina) Dodmead, 65, of Neillsville, who died Tuesday, August 20. The Rev. Leander Koopman of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood, will officiate and interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Neillsville.

The body of Mrs. Dodmead will be in state from 2 p.m. this (Thursday) afternoon until time of services. The Rosary will be recited this (Thursday) evening at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Dodmead, the daughter of Frank and Ann (Haas) Smitke, was born June 8, 1909, in the Thorp area and was educated in schools there. She was employed at various area hospitals. Her marriage to Elmer Dodmead took place November 13, 1928, in Eau Claire. The couple farmed in the Town of Levis until 1968, when they moved to Neillsville. Mrs. Dodmead was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three children, Kenneth Dodmead and Carlyn A. Szflarski of Chicago, Il., and Lorna Mae Lee of Neillsville; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Lucilla) Matousek and Mrs. John (Cecelia) Bryan of Neillsville; one brother, Frederick Smitke of Thorp; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
