Goetsch, Lucille “Lue” Elizabeth (Butler) (27 OCT 1925 - 4 SEP 2017)

Lucille “Lue” Elizabeth Goetsch, 91, Wausau, died Monday, September 4, 2017 at Applegate Terrace under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Lue was born in Wausau on October 27, 1925 to the late Arthur and Nellie (Anderson) Butler. She is a graduate of Wausau High School. Lue married Raymond Goetsch on November 8, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau, and together they raised four sons. Lue and Raymond celebrated 47 years together prior to his death on December 2, 1994.

Lue enjoyed being a homemaker and happily raised her four sons. She was active in bible class, Girl Scouts, and the Concordia Guild. Lue especially enjoyed the companionship of a small group of women who called themselves “The Sewing Club” and a great deal of happy laughter was had over the years with these dear friends. In her free time, Lue liked to read, work on crossword puzzles, play board games and loved baking cookies.

Lue is survived by her sons, Milton, Larry, Bruce and Brian; grandchildren, Roger, Kevin (Dee), Kimberly Holbein, Karen (Michael) Poupart and Michael (Sheryl); 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Lillie and Delores Warner; and extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, Enid Baney, Charlotte Butler and Arthur Butler; daughters-in-law, Donna and Carol Goetsch; and very dear friend, Roy Morgan.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 6:30 PM at Zion Lutheran Church, 709 6th Street, Wausau. Pastor Steven Gjerde will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:30 PM until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. There will be a private burial at Pine Grove Cemetery.
