Uher, Therese Rose (Miller) (2 JUL 1931 - 16 AUG 2017)

Therese Rose Uher, 86, Phillips, Town of Emery, died surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield following courageous bouts of cancer.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 2, 1931, the daughter of Carl and Regina Miller. She was married to Walter Harold Uher on April 28, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois. She was employed by Continental Can and then as a telephone operator while living in Chicago.

Following the couple’s move to Price County she was employed by Phillips Plating Corporation and then as a waitress at the Phillips Cafe. She was a member of Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church of Phillips, the Women’s Auxiliary of the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post, the Council of Catholic Women, and of the Birthday Club. In her free time she was a HUGE fan of the Green Bay Packers, and also enjoyed embroidery, garage sailing, and fishing.

She is survived by five children, Delores “Lori” (Ken) Lizak, Ashland, WI, Lucille (John) Rafko, Cumberland, WI, Walter Jr. (Cindy), Hopkinsville, KY, John (Hope), Gracey, KY, and David, Phillips; by 13 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren; and by one sister-in-law, Mary Miller.

She was the last surviving of 10 children. Her nine brothers and sisters who preceed her in death are Ann Reel, Charles Miller, Russell Miller, Raymond Miller, George Miller, Mary Lavoie, Bernice Petty, Violet Miller, and Lucille Miller.

Memorial services will be held at Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Phillips at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 19th, with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the Funeral Mass. Interment will be in the Saint Patrick Cemetery in Phillips. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
