Gohde, Rick LaVerne (17 April 1953 – 23 June 2017)

Rick LaVerne Gohde, 64, of Alma Center died peacefully while surrounded by loved ones Friday, June 23, 2017, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

Rick was born April 17, 1953, in Janesville to William and Rosella (Burlingame) Gohde. As a young man, he moved to the Alma Center area where he graduated from Alma Center High School in 1972.

Rick married Shirley Jean Hanson-Krehmeyer June 24, 1989, in Neillsville.

As a young man, he worked as a farm hand and for Shopko stores. At the time of his death, he was inventory control coordinator at Jackson Correctional Institution.

Rick enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching Wisconsin sports, and playing softball and darts with the local tavern league. His favorite time was spent with his grandkids.

Rick is survived, by his wife Shirley; children, Sheila Krehmeyer of Alma Center, Theresa “T.C.” Krehmeyer (Canny Collum, Jr.) of Alma Center, Jason Krehmeyer of Warrens, and Theron “T.J.” (Molly) Gohde of Kimberly; his mother, Rosella Burlingame of Neillsville, brothers and sisters, Russell (Beth) Gohde of Philadelphia, TN, Raymond Gohde of Black River Falls, Cindra (Robert) Starck of Rigby, ID, Tony (Carol) Gohde of Columbia City, IN, Mary (Marlin) Mashin of Neillsville, and Rebecca (Paul) Peterson of Melrose; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandsons. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

Rick was preceded in death by his father William, and daughter Lynn Marie DeGroot.

A celebration of Rick’s life will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday July 21, 2017, at Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home in Hixton.
