Margaret Kowalk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garret Lobner of Spencer, was confirmed May 21 at the North Spencer Church. Her sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kowalk. Dinner guests at the Lobner home afterwards were Alfred Dunow of Colby, great-grandmother, Cindy Dunow of Stratford, and the Ed Kowalk family.

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith, Mukwego, spent Memorial weekend with his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Turville of Neillsville. On Monday, Mrs. Turville drove the Smiths and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kurz to Sheldon, where they attended Memorial Day services.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Metcalfe visited at the Memorial Home on Wednesday with Joe Buhrow, Edith Kammerer and Carl Peterson.

Our deepest sympathy to Ed Kowalk in the recent death of his mother, Mrs. Alfred Dunow of Colby.

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mews Sr. held a graduation party at their home on Thursday night for their daughter Coleen. She graduated from Loyal High School that evening.

Mrs. Henry Kurz visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Langreck and her mother Clara of Greenwood on Friday afternoon.

Lorena Kurz spent Memorial Day weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Stevens.

Mrs. Elle Mueller is spending some time with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mueller and sons of Marshfield. She will leave for her home in Washington on June 1st.

Ed Kowalk was injured in a car accident recently and underwent head surgery at Marshfield. He is at home and doing fine, but can't go back to work for another month.

Howard Schultz was a patient at Marshfield following surgery last week.

The baby of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Weyer is also a patient at Marshfield Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kurz and Mike attended the wedding shower dance in honor of the coming marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Langrick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Langreck of Marshfield. The dance was held at the VFW Hall in Marshfield on Saturday evening. They will wed on June 2 and live in the former Pink Pussy Cat at Bakerville.
