Lila M. Edwards, 82, 915 N. Fourth Ave., Wausau, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at Hospice House.

Lila was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Lois (Roger) Stasko, Wausau, and Judy (Bobby) Morgan, Summerfield, N.C.; one son, Mark (Allison) Edwards, The Colony, Texas; three grandchildren; one brother, Roy (Sue) Schulz, Nekoosa; and one sister, Ellen (John) Nein, Lombard, Ill.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, at First English Lutheran Church, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, and from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Comfort Care and Hospice Service, 333 Pine Ridge Blvd., Wausau, or First English Lutheran Church, 402 N. Third Ave., Wausau.

Lila M. Edwards


Lila M. Edwards, 82, of 915 N. Fourth Ave., Wausau, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice at the Hospice House.

She was born Oct. 23, 1921, to the late Emil and Lillian (Zielsdorf) Schulz. On Dec. 10, 1950, Lila married Ray Edwards at First English Lutheran Church, Wausau, where they remained members.

Lila had been active in the Grace Circle at First English and was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Burns Post No. 388.


Lila will be remembered for how she blessed and enriched the lives of others through her strong faith and personal relationship with our Lord. Her vibrant personality, quick wit, and beautiful smile were traits that she shared. Lila cherished her family and enjoyed being involved in their activities. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. Her favorite pastime was writing letters and keeping in close correspondence with her family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Lois (Roger) Stasko of Wausau and Judy (Bobby) Morgan of Summerfield, N.C.; one son, Mark (Allison) Edwards of The Colony, Texas; three grandchildren, Faith Edwards and Zachary and Hannah Morgan; one brother, Roy (Sue) Schulz of Nekoosa; and one sister, Ellen (John) Nein of Lombard, Ill. Her husband, Ray, preceded Lila in death on Aug. 7, 1999.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at First English Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Jay Kamrath will officiate. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
