Such, Leonarda Z. (3 MAY 1925 – 5 APR 2017)
Leonarda Z. Such, 91, of Stanley, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at the Homeplace, Stanley, under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice. She was born on May 3, 1925 in Iwonicz, Poland, the daughter of the late John F. and Aniela (Kenar) Such. She was raised in Poland and married John Such there on November 18, 1952. The couple moved to Wisconsin in 1959 and farmed north of Stanley.
Leonarda was a member of All Saints Parish and enjoyed sewing and her flowers.
She is survived by her children, Halina (David) Knapp of Waupun; Hatty (James) Worth of Stanley, Albert (Annie Bissantz) Such of Carol Stream, Illinois; and Mary (Ron Hazuga) Thrasher of Stanley; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Leonarda is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Stanley Such, and her sister, Marie Kielar.
A funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at St. Mary's Czestochowa Catholic Church, rural Stanley (actually in Clark County), with Father Janusz Kowalski officiating. Burial followed at St. Mary's Czestchowa Cemetery (Clark Co., Wis.). Visitation was from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, with a 7 p.m. parish rosary, and Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9:45 a.m. until departure to the church.
