Bergey, Edward John (22 November 1943 – 3 March 2017) With Flag

Edward John Bergey was called home Friday morning, March 3, 2017, surrounded by family.

Ed was born Nov. 22, 1943, in Clare, MI, to Fredrick Sr. and Cleo (Wilson) Bergey. He was a Captain of the Patriot Guard. He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his special friend, Joyce Bliss; his children Cindy (Richard) Mullens, Elizabeth (John) Umphrey, JoGeanna Romero, Kathern (BJ) Kangas, Troy White-Bergey, and Ashleigh White; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Rayland (Alice) Bergey, Doris Bergey, Fredrick “Duffy” Jr. (Satomi) Bergey, and Eugene (Karen) Bergey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ronald, and nephews Toby and Dewayne.

A memorial service for Ed will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate. The Neillsville Veteran’s Council will perform Military honors. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Gesche Funeral Home.
