Ogurek, John W. (25 JUN 1893 – 12 DEC 1968)

Mr. John Walter Ogurek passed away suddenly Thursday evening, December 12, 1968 at the home of his youngest brother, Mr. and Mrs. Mayland A. Ogurek, with whom he made his home for many years.

He never married.

He was born in Chicago, Ill., June 25th, 1893, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew W. Ogurek. He came to rural Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), near "Whipple Dam", with His parents, brothers and sisters, on April 9th, 1903.

He lived in the town of Roosevelt, Taylor Co., Wisconsin most of his life.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 16th at 10 o'clock at St. Mary of Assumption Polish National Catholic Church, with Father Matthew Buba officiating.

Rosary was recited Sunday evening, December 15th at 8 o'clock. Interment was made at St. Mary of Assumption PNC Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Walter Ruda, Walter Szymoniak, Steve Shewczyk, Eugene Zakrzewicz, Stanley Kaszubowski, and Leonard Dombroski.

Survivors include: two brothers, Mayland and Al A. Ogurek, Thorp, and sisters, Mrs. Gus (Mabel) Kaczmarski, and Barbara Lucille Ogurek, both of Thorp; Mrs. Leona W. Lemanski of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Wally C. Stroinski of Stanley, Wis. He is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews, 1 sister-in-law and one brother-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
