Nason, Reuel S. "Slim" (1 NOV 1899 – 1 APR 1968)

At two o'clock today funeral services were conducted at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home for Reuel S. (Slim) Nason. Rev. Robert Goessling, pastor of the United Church of Christ, officiated, with interment being made at Riverside Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Dr. A.A. Jarvis, Leonard Buchanan, Norman Andreasen, Hans and Martin Paulsen and Gordon Thorson.

His death was sudden and surprising, as he was up and active until late Saturday, when he became ill and was taken to Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley, where passed away early Monday morning, April 1st, 1968.

Reuel S. Nason was born November 1, 1899 at Nasonville and had attained the age of 68 years and 5 months. He was a resident of the Chicago area for 37 years, serving as plant manager of Swift & Company. Since his retirement on October 31, 1964, he and his wife had made their home on a farm they purchased on route 2, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), in the Frenchtown area.

On December 26, 1926 he married the former Gladys Carlson in a ceremony performed at Duluth, Minn. She mourns his passing, as do a daughter, Mrs. Martin (Sandra) Thompson, and two granddaughters, , Audrey and Jennifer of Chicago, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. Adeline Garbisch, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Mrs. Norma Heard, San Diego, California; and a brother, Dr. M.V. Nason, Withee.
