Lissner, Harvey Norman (20 SEP 1949 - 22 NOV 2016)

Harvey Norman Lissner, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on November 22, 2016, surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home, Evansville.

He was born on September 20, 1949, to Norman A. and Helen F. (Bartelt) Lissner in Medford.

Harvey drove semi truck as an owner operator and for Mayflower for most of his early years. He also owned several antique stores which he operated with his mother, Helen, in and around Medford. He also was a talented artist and loved to draw, color wildlife and cars in his free time. Harvey had a passion for guns, fast cars and good times, living life in the moment, he also was an avid (and very lucky) gambler. Harvey took pride in his children, grandchildren and his family was always first and foremost in his life. Harvey was a free spirit, with a unique and very special personality and to know him was to love him. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. We will keep your fire in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his sons; Leon (Kerri) Lissner, Kenny Lissner both of Evansville, a daughter Tamara Brayshaw of Janesville; ten grandchildren, Evan, Olivia (Lucy), Dominic, Thor, Tora, Kayse, Megan, MaKenzie, Madalyn, Kyle; two great grandchildren, Gavin and Tatem; his siblings; brother-in-law, Jerry (Mary) Asleson of Janesville, Judy Roehl, Donna (Dennis) Vesnefsky, Shirley (Kenny) House, Beverly Lissner all of Medford, Lorretta (Tom) Grupstra of Washburn, Janet Lissner, Bernice (Mark) Meyer, Marlene (Todd) Brandner all of Medford; and many loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Lissner; a sister, Mary (Lissner) Asleson; two nephews, Travis Lekie and Robbie Grupstra; his parents, Norman Arvid Lissner and Helen Florence (Bartelt) Lissner; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
