Kalsow, Robert “Bob” Richard (5 September 1936 – 17 November 2016) With Flag

Robert R. Kalsow, 80, of Neillsville died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at his home.

Robert Richard Kalsow was born Sept. 5, 1936, in Neillsville, the son of Hans and Renata (Eberhardt) Kalsow. He graduated from Neillsville High School in 1954 and then joined the Army National Guard. He was untied in marriage to Carol Weichelt Aug. 13, 1966. They farmed in the Town of Seif until 1980. Then Bob went to work for Cenex Feeds for 18 years. After semi-retiring in 1998, he enjoyed his time out on his land, working in the woods, making maple syrup, sawing logs, cutting wood, and making hay.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church Pine Valley and served on the church council. He was also a life-time member of the Disabled American Veterans Association.

Robert is survived by his wife, Carol, a son Dale (Anne) Kalsow of Hudson, a daugher, Dawn Kalsow of Chippewa Falls; four grandchildren: Brandan, Channa, Evan and Faith; a sister, Edna O’Leary of Humbird; and two nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service for Robert will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at the Zion Lutheran Church Pine Valley in Neillsville. Pastor Chad Anderson will officiate. Music will be provided by Beverly Kraly, organist. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday morning prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery, with military honors performed by the Neillsville Veteran’s Council.

Serving as casket bearers will be Dale Kalsow, Anne Kalsow, Brandan Kalsow, Channa Kalsow, Evan Kalsow and Faith Kalsow.
