Weigal, Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Wierichs) (10 OCT 1935 - 12 NOV 2016)

Elizabeth M. "Betty" Weigal, 81, Marathon died Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the Aspirus staff for the outstanding care they provided for Elizabeth.

She was born October 10, 1935 in Conover, daughter of the late George and Anna (Schroeder) Wierichs. On September 19, 1959, she married Harold Weigal Sr. in Chicago. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1979.

Betty worked various part time jobs in Wausau for many years and owned her own business in Chicago. Her true passion in life was family. She cherished the time she was able to stay home and raise her six children. Betty was very dedicated to her family, as a mother, grandmother and friend. Her presence among her family will be greatly missed.

Some of her favorite pastimes included traveling and attending her therapy once a month with her friend Lorraine.

Survivors include her children, Georgian (Spencer) Davis, Lake in the Hills, Illinois, Jim Harrison, Kansas City, Missouri, Debra (Frank) Lang, Wausau, Harold (Kristine) Weigal Jr., Mokena, Illinois, David Weigal, Oak Lawn, Illinois and Doris (Kenneth) Boyd, Waukesha, nine grandchildren, Frank Lang, David (Valerie) Weigal Jr., David Harrison, Dustin Weigal, Josh and Randy Boyd, Stephanie Harrison and Justin and Courtney Weigal, six great grandchildren, her siblings, Jim Wierichs, Conover, Anna Oriechbauer, Eagle River and Ruth Blaisdell, Boulder Junction and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Louise, Genevieve, Frances, Louis and George and one granddaughter, Heather Davis.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3372 County Road S, Marathon. The Rev. Felix Tigoy will officiate. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. in the Mara-Cassel Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
