Hauser, Justin “Jud” (9 FEB 1943 - 12 NOV 2016)

Justin “Jud” Hauser, age 73, of Mitchell, S. Dakota died Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Doughtery Hospice House in Sioux Falls, S. Dakota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Justin “Jud” Hauser, son of Harold and Mary (Gesicki) Hauser, was born February 9, 1943 in Medford. He grew up in Stetsonville and attended grade school in Medford. Jud graduated from Medford High School in 1961. He attended college at Wisconsin State University at Eau Claire.

Jud worked at the Tombstone Tap as a bartender while putting himself through college. He later worked as a social worker at Northern Colony and Training School in Chippewa Falls, after graduating from college.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life Kathy Piller on June 11, 1966 in Medford. The couple made their home in Medford. In June of 1972 they moved to Mitchell, S. Dakota where they raised their three daughters. Jud was employed with Tombstone Pizza. Following his time with Tombstone he worked for Bernatello’s Pizza. Jud gave up his full time employment to selflessly take care of his wife Kathy.

Jud was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Lakeview Golf Course. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, fishing, being outdoors, the Green Bay Packers and watching wildlife from his porch. His greatest pleasures were spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared his life are his three daughters; Justine Tobin and her fiancé Jeff Wieneke, Brandon, S. Dakota, Jennifer (Tim) Wethor, Brandon, S. Dakota, Jessica (Jim) Nolz, Brandon, S. Dakota; six grandchildren; Trevor, Tessa, Cassidy, Callie, Olivia and Sam; three brothers, Jimmy (Sally) Hauser, San Rafael, Calif., Denis (Vickie) Hauser, Glenbeulah, Jon (Diana) Hauser, Watertown; four sisters, Suzie (Jim) Soos, Hendersonville, N. Car., Margaret (Randy) Mayer, Stetsonville, Kathy (Bill) Brunner, Medford, and Patty Hauser, Appleton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Hauser, on July 2, 2008; and his parents.
