The safe which was taken from the office of the high school on the night of October 26, was found Thursday afternoon in the creek two miles west and one mile south of here.

Walter Jacob and Joseph maternal were netting minnows in the creek when they came on the safe, partly submerged.

Authorities were notified and the safe was identified by Herbert Juneau. The door was off and the contents, except several school records, were missing.

Edgar Lenhard, who lived eight miles east of Abbotsford, on Highway 29, called the school Friday, stating that he discovered a small, steel filing case, about 6 X 6 X 10 inches, near Randall creek. This cabinet has been used to hold the saving stamps of the pupils taking part in the saving stamp program and the petty cash. The case was identified and found to be empty.

Most of the envelopes, bearing the names of teachers and contents were scattered along the edge of the creek on the south side of the road. Authorities indicated the thieves may have thrown the box out of the car when passing. No money or stamps were found.
