West Eaton (10 Apr 1919)

Leo Bredeson moved his well drill up to the Alfred Schwartz farm last week.

Mr. and Mrs. George Gemmeke and Iola spent Sunday at Ben Stanley’s.

A. Davey called at Bostwick’s Sunday morning.

Orville Dimler spent Sunday evening at the Davey home.

Mrs. Bahl and daughter and son and Miss Huckstead spent Sunday evening with the Davey’s.

Mrs. Podobnik and children spent Sunday evening at the Bostwick home.

Mrs. A. Borgers spent a few days last week at Greenwood caring for Mrs. Snyder, who is sick with the flu.

Lyle Bostwick was a caller at A.L. Borgers’ Sunday morning.

Norton Borgers is working at the Carl Jorenby home again.

Mrs. H. Bostwick and son, Lyle, and Mrs. A. Borgers attended the Ladies’ Aid at the Rutger Chapel last Thursday. There will be Sunday school and services at that place the coming summer on Sundays. It surely does seem good to have an aid and church to go to.

Miss Huckstead will have a pie social of the Cole Schoolhouse Friday, April 11th, in the evening. Everyone invited.

Word was received in this vicinity from John Schmidt of Illinois that his brother, Harold, was on the gain, but his mother is not much better. John was called there about two weeks ago on account of their illness. We hope they will both recover. Harold was here last summer to visit his brother, John, and his good qualities and pleasant disposition won him a host of friends, who join in wishing him a speedy recovery.
