Michlig, Stella (Winkert) (17 MAY 1908 - 1 AUG 2005)

Stella Michlig, 97, formerly of Edgar, died Monday, August 1, 2005 at Colonial Manor Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.

She was born May 17, 1908 in the town of Rib Falls, daughter of the late Max and Frances (Obermeyer) Winkert. On February 7, 1942, she married Henry Michlig at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1998.

Stella and her husband farmed in the town of Rib Falls until the time of their retirement. Besides playing cards and making pies, she enjoyed baking cakes, especially numerous wedding cakes. She was a member of a square dancers club and was very active in St. John Catholic Church, Edgar.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Johanna Michlig; one brother-in-law, Alex Michlig; many nieces, nephews and counins.

The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Norman Boneck will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.

Stella’s family would like to thank the volunteers and staff at Colonial Manor Medical & Rehabilitation Center for their loving care given to her during her stay.
