Dittner, Marie J. (1 AUG 1908 – 25 SEP 1971)

Mrs. Ernest J. Dittner, 68, Spencer, died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where she has been a patient since July 6, 1971.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Christ the King Catholic Church. The Rev. Andrew H. Bofenkamp officiated, and burial was made in the West Spencer Cemetery.

The former Marie J. Bushman was born August 1, 1908 in Manitowoc County, and received her education there. She was married to Ernest Dittner in Marshfield on November 16, 1927. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1970. She had resided in Manitowoc County until her marriage, when the couple came to the Spencer and Marshfield area. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society, and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Foth, Orlando, Florida; and Mrs. Robert (Geraldine) Schweiss, Coon Rapids, Michigan; two sons, Norbert, Marshfield, and John, Green Bay; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Aloysius Bushman, Vesper; Herbert Bushman, Stevens Point; and Edward Bushman Sr., Marshfield; three sisters, Mrs. Harlowe Hegelmeyer, Milwaukee; Mrs. Hector Haasl, route 1, Milladore, and Mrs. Arthur Erickson, Withee; and her mother, Mrs. Josephine Bushman, Wisconsin Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her father.
