Miss Joan Bushman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aloysius Bushman, route 1, Greenwood
(Clark Co., Wis.), was given in marriage by her father and mother to Hugh
Christie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Christie, Greenwood, at 1 p.m. Saturday,
August 14, 1971, in St. Mary's Church, Greenwood.
The bride was escorted into church and given in marriage during a ceremony
performed by the Rev. Leander Koopman, for which Mrs. Tom Felton, Eau Claire,
was organist, and Donna, Debbie and Diane Zepaltas sang.
The bride selected for her dress a white Venice lace empire gown over taffeta,
with Victorian styling and a chapel length train with an elbow length English
illusion bouffant veil held with a coronet headpiece. She carried white daisies
accented with blue baby's breath for her bouquet.
Asked to serve as bridal aides were Miss Jayne Neuenfeldt, Greenwood, the maid
of honor, and Miss Sue Scherer of Greenwood, Miss Theresa Bushman, Milwaukee,
and Miss Marcia Bushman, Milwaukee.
They wore floor length gowns of blue and white printed organza over blue taffeta
frocks with blue picture hats and carried blue daisy baskets.
Others in the wedding party were James Dillenbeck of Greenwood, best man, Dennis
Denk, Eau Claire, Edward Yurkovich, Willard, and Timothy Christie, Anoka,
Minnesota. Mr. Edward Bushman and Mrs. James Christie of Greenwood were ushers.
A reception and dinner following the ceremony was held at the Legion Hall in
Greenwood, followed by a wedding dance in the evening at the Silver Done
Ballroom, Neillsville.
The bride is a graduate of the McConnell Airline School, Minneapolis, and has
been employed by Honeywell Inc., Minneapolis. Her husband is a graduate of Eau
Claire Technical Institute and is employed by Greenwood Homes Inc. Following a
northern Wisconsin honeymoon, the Christies will live at 205 N. Andrews Avenue
in Greenwood.
