Wenzel, Robert (12 OCT 1903 – 16 JUN 1971)

Robert Wenzel, 67, Spencer, died Wednesday morning, June 16, 1971 in the emergency room at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Services were held Friday afternoon at the Jasperson Funeral Home, and burial was made in the West Spencer Cemetery. Pastor Bernie A. Scott of the United Methodist Church officiated.

Pallbearers were Raymond Gripentrog, DuWayne Matter, Ted Huber, Roman Brandt, and Joe Boe. Mrs. Norman Kasper sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound," accompanied by Mrs. Darrell Roder.

Mr. Wenzel was born October 12, 1903 in Hewitt, and received his education there. On June 28, 1928, he married Lillian Gotz in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. The couple made their home in Racine for two years, then moved to Marshfield, where they resided until they moved to Spencer in 1949. He had been employed as a carpenter for several years, and had been employed at the Diary Bell of Spencer, now Land O' Lakes.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Elizabeth) Gripentrog, Spencer; Mrs. Ronald (Karen) Kupfer, Marshfield; four sons, Gordon, Plymouth; Frederick, Sheboygan Falls; and Charles and Robert, both of Waldo; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. William Feirer, Marshfield; and Sister Frances, Milwaukee; and three brothers, Edward, William and Henry, all of Marshfield.

He was preceded in death by a son, a sister, and two brothers.
