Geiger, Clara (28 MAR 1910 – 23 MAR 1969)

Mrs. Frank (Clara) Geiger, 58, route 1, Abbotsford, died Sunday evening, March 23, 1969, at Marshfield Convalescent Center, where she was being cared for since July 1967.

A rosary service was conducted Tuesday evening at 8:45 at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, where the body laid in state. A mass of requiem was held at St. Bernard's Catholic Church Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock, with the Rev. Emil Hodnik officiating. Mrs. Geiger was a member of St. Bernard's Church and the Catholic Ladies' Altar Society. Interment was made in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

The former Clara Theresa Wittman was born March 28, 1910, at Darboy, Wisconsin. She received her education there and her marriage to Frank Geiger took place at Darboy April 9, 1929. The couple farmed near Dorchester until 1940 and then moved to their present farm, northwest of Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.).

Mrs. Geiger is survived by her husband and seven children: Louis Geiger of Marshfield; Mrs. Dorothy Cepress of Orlando, Florida; Mrs. Emery (Rita) Schmitt, Mrs. Vern (Jeanette) Hanne and Mrs. Dean (Doris) Witte, all of Colby; Mrs. Leo (Celine) Lofland of Algoma, and Mrs. Darrel (Diane) Sterzinger of Madison. There are 25 grandchildren.

She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Minnie) Geiger of Dorchester and Mrs. Harold (Regina) Fahrenbach of Menasha, and five brothers, Tony of Marshfield; Herman, Edward, Ted and Ray, all of Kaukauna. Three brothers preceded her in death.
